Volunteers & Artist Mentors

ARTS relies on the generosity of volunteers from all over San Diego County to achieve its goal of helping to enhance the lives of children and youth facing adversities through the creative arts. Volunteers' love and creativity bring transformational healing to these children. We also need volunteers with numerous other skills to help in the office, sit on committees, or even on the Board of Directors! ARTS is comprised of volunteers from all walks of life who possess a great variety of skills. Artistic ability or background is encouraged but not required to volunteer.

There is an initial interview and comprehensive training for all those interested in volunteering. This process helps guide our volunteers through the organization and their role in supporting and making a difference in the life of a child.
Currently, ARTS needs volunteers in several areas to help with its operations:

  • Artist Mentors - 6 month commitment at a partner site
  • Special Events - (Community events/Fundraisers)
  • Graphic Design
  • Marketing/PR
  • Program Coordination/Planning
  • Administrative/Office Support
  • Community Outreach (Recruitment)
  • Organizational Relations (w/ Partnering Organizations or Funders)

Volunteer Application Package:
For the protection of the children and organizations we serve, all volunteers will be asked to fill out an application and go through a screening process which may include a background check.
